wapo has an op-ed piece by harold meyerson which aspires to be a hit wedge, but should be viewed as lacking the corporeality necessary to rate that distinction.
Meyerson raves in hysterical tones that during one of a myriad stump speeches delivered by McCain over the past months, the GOP nominee accidentally said that Iran was training “al-Qaeda” instead of “extremists.” It took McCain a matter of seconds to correct himself, as Joe Lieberman nudged the speaker to make him aware of the misstatement.
Obama’s grandfatherly pastor of two decades thinks America and all white people are villainous murderers. Clinton lies outright over her experiences in Bosnia, likening herself to an embattled soldier while on a meet-and-greet soiree. And the best the liberal fanatics in the media can drudge up on McCain is that he accidentally said “al-Qaeda” instead of “extremists?”
Perhaps Meyerson should take a tip from the New York Times - when they couldn’t find a scandal on McCain, they just made one up. It didn’t work out so well for them - but if a hit job is worth anything, it’s worth a second try. Watch for it.
